Nick from Italy
As a pensioner I have all the time in the world that I also use to do what I like, sometimes I also travel, but without much planning, just leave!
As a boy I was very self-conscious, I always fought exploitation or abuse. But I realized that many people don't like it when someone protests and demands their rights. I almost always won the many fights, sometimes even in court - especially here in Germany.
My experience is that if you do not demand your rights, they are not always guaranteed automatically! I have always made sure that I am not disadvantaged. I have changed jobs several times, have sometimes been bullied just because I have promoted fair pay or working conditions. Nothing else was possible but to change jobs.
Who am I? Social person who believes in equality and justice. That has always distinguished me and gave me the strength to fight injustices. There are people who are selfish and not social and superficial. But I also believe that dialogue is the best weapon in solving difficulties. Who gives up has already lost! Those who want a better world have to start with him first!
Even if I am not politically active, I always watch what is happening because they decide how you live here and what advantages or disadvantages you have to reckon with. I used to have sympathy for the SPD, unfortunately too many mistakes have been made by the person responsible that I turned my back. The left, especially Lafontaine, is mostly OK with many social issues. But even there I disagree when it comes to NATO or asylum seekers!
I don't think politics has a broad consensus because the mood changes quickly. In Germany politics has been stable for a few years, well, the problems, everyday life, the established parties have also been given a lesson. The CDU and SPD were inviolable for many years, but when you see the last elections, they have also been punished. Refugees have managed that one party could gain so much in so less time.
Some members of the established parties either no longer voted (I, for example, SPD supporters no longer voted) or voted for other parties. Parties are no longer the same as they used to be, other factors move people, fear for the future, work, which cannot be solved or only partially. I didn't vote anymore because I think it's important if a party has to keep promises.
The excuse "The voters made this decision" And to make coalitions that do not fit together (before the election, political opponents are after the election of political partners) does not count for me, you have to vote until a majority is formed that fits together (the incumbent government can continue to govern during that time until it becomes clear who can continue to form a government). You can't form a government from different mentalities (Italy 2018) because the voters who believe in something get doubts, that's the way it is for me, I think, prefer not to vote anymore and look at the matter from afar.
On the other hand, I still like football because I always enjoyed playing football. I even played in the district league in Italy for 2 seasons until I broke my joint in an accident and thus said goodbye to football, what a shame, otherwise I would have become the Italian Maradona ... definitely!
